32 Weeks

Well, I have made it to 32 weeks! I have been feeling pretty blessed to be able to have such a smooth first pregnancy. I know that's not the case with a lot of girls. I honestly expected to miscarry at some point or have something go wrong, but it's all been pretty nice. I feel good. Baby is growing just like she should. She moves a lot everyday, and according to the Anatomy Scan is pretty healthy! So I am greatly grateful for that and am so excited to finally meet our baby girl in 8 weeks!

So according to TheBump.com, baby is the size of a Squash, weighs between 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 pounds and about 16 inches long. I haven't really had many Braxton Hicks. Maybe a couple every now and then, but that's only if those are really what I have been feeling since I honestly don't know if it is. :) Apparently she has her finger and toe nails now. She has all of her senses working properly, and getting more plump everyday. Haha

At my Doctor's appointment this past week, we heard her heartbeat (148, which is what she has been at pretty much the whole time), which is still my favorite sound in the world. :) He was also able to give me an adjustment which was awesome! It had been so long since I had gotten one and I definitely had been needing it. My back, hips, and neck felt so good after that. And another thing was he told me that I have been drinking too much water! I didn't even know that was possible! But he told me that's why my feet have been so swollen. Look at these things!

And this picture was taken TODAY. I don't have ankles!  I have been trying so hard to drink less water, but it's hard when I get so thirsty and nothing but water makes me feel better. :) But I am trying!! And I had to stand a lot today at work and such, so that didn't help my cankles.

Other than that, things are great! My baby shower is this Saturday which I am super excited for. My diaper bag should be coming in the mail any day now. :)
And then I can finally finish buying all the things I am still lacking. I can't wait till August!

Surgery

Chris had surgery about 3 weeks ago that I am just now getting around to posting about. I am sure all of you are tired of all these posts about me and baby, so here are some other happenings in our life right now. :)
So, Chris ended up having surgery to remove his tonsils, fix his deviated septum, and they also shortened his uvula. Or his "wagger" like Chris calls it. No idea where he got that word, but it makes me laugh. :) Chris has been snoring REALLY badly for years. Like so bad that those couple months before his surgery we weren't even sleeping in the same room. He slept out on the couch. Or I would try to but he always made me go back in the bed. Before I got pregnant I would wear earplugs and those seem to work okay. But there were nights that I could still hear him through the earplugs. But once I was halfway through my pregnancy I started becoming a light sleeper and could hear everything. Probably cause I have to get up to go to the bathroom a lot, and I have to switch sleeping positions every couple hours. But I got no sleep if Chris was in there with me.
So we finally decided to go do something about it. I wanted us to be able to sleep in bed together again and when the baby comes I can't be using earplugs. We went to the Sleep Institute and got him tested for Sleep Apnea. They sent us home with a little machine that we hooked Chris up to and tested his sleep patterns, but they told him he didn't have it.
Which surprised us a lot since his Dad has it and sleeps with a machine, and if you heard his snoring you would think he had it too. So we went and saw an Ear, Throat, and Nose doctor. He recommended getting his tonsils out and fixing his nose. So we scheduled it! We had known Chris needed his tonsils out for a while cause he would get white patches on his throat a lot, and would get really bad breath sometimes.

May 23rd was the day of his surgery. We arrived at the hospital at 8:30am and got checked in. They started prepping him, taking his vitals, asking him about his history.

The Anesthesiologist came in and talked to him about the effects of Anesthesia and such. He was really helpful in reassuring Chris that he would be ok and the surgery would go well. Chris was super scared and worried cause he hasn't had the best experiences in hospitals. But put this drug in his IV that helped calm him way down and helped him sleep a little before they took him in.

The doctor was finally ready for him at about 11:30am. They put on his cap, I kissed him good luck, and they whisked him into the O.R. I ran and grabbed something to eat and came and waited in the waiting room.
They told me that the surgery would be about 2 hours, but it was only an hour later when my little pager buzzed telling me the doctor was ready to talk to me! That scared me a little cause it made me think that something had gone wrong and that's why they were already finished. But I went into the little room where the doctor comes and talks to you, he came in and told me they were all done and the surgery went really well! He said that his tonsils were very badly infected so it was good we got those out. His nose wasn't as bad as they thought and they didn't even need to put a stint in it. Stint? Or is it slint? I have no idea. But that was good news :). I went back into the waiting room while they got him back to Recovery and waited to be buzzed telling me I could go back to see him. After almost an HOUR I got to go back. He was very groggy, still waking up. But he could talk a little bit and I fed him some flavored ice chips. He kept saying over and over how beautiful I was. And that I was pretty. A little later I was rolling him in a wheelchair to the bathroom and he says, "You are so beautiful. I haven't told you that today." haha it was pretty cute and funny.

When the nurse said he was good to go, we rolled him out to the car, I took him home and got him comfy on the couch. So that's where he stayed for the next 2 weeks. Well, almost 2 weeks. He healed pretty quickly and got back on his feet fast. We made sure he drank LOTS of water to flush everything out so he wouldn't get infected or anything. That truly did the trick.

So now he is back to his old self, been back to work for a week, and feels great! And the best news of all, HE DOESN'T SNORE! We sleep in the same bed and we both sleep all night with no problems! I don't have to tell him to turn over, I don't have to wear earplugs, he is breathing so much better and feeling a lot more rested in the day. Yay! We are so glad we finally did that. :)

28 Weeks

I turned 28 weeks this past Saturday, which means I am officially in the 3rd Trimester! I can't believe how fast time is going by. We are getting so close to the end and will be able to hold our little girl soon! We are really excited! People have been so generous in giving us clothes and toys and many other things we will need for our baby. I am thinking she might not be able to wear all the clothes we have for her! :) Haha The nursery is getting closer and closer to getting done. It's been so fun working on it.
So apparently the baby is the size of an eggplant now. :) She is developing more fat and her lungs are mature enough that she would probably survive if she was born now. But hopefully not! I want her to stay in much longer.

She kicks all the time! I love it cause it lets me know she is still in there. Her kicks are definitely getting harder and harder though, which sometimes makes me buckle over. But I will take it! :) I have started to feel Braxton Hicks contractions which aren't always fun. And sleep is starting to get harder and harder. It takes a while to find a comfortable position and I usually need a snack at 4am.

My doctor appointments have been going well. I like getting to go more often. I still love hearing the heartbeat each time. I took the Glucose test yesterday, and I passed! Yay! No Gestational Diabetes for me!
Honestly I have no idea how much weight I have gained so far. I close my eyes when I get on the scale, and the nurses or my doctor has never said anything about it so I guess it's been fine. I am thinking it's around 20 pounds. But I am not thinking about it too much. I will just work hard to lose it after she is out!

We are still trying to decide which hospital we want to deliver at and who we want as our Pediatrician. We will figure that out soon. Chris is having surgery tomorrow. He is getting his tonsils taken out and his deviated septum fixed. I am sure it will go really well, but please keep him in your prayers! He is not excited for the pain it will bring or the time he has to take off work. But we know it will make things a lot better with his health and ability to sleep.

Vegas!

I am a little slow getting this post done since it has been 2 weeks since I was in Vegas. :) But I finally have some time to just sit and type with nowhere that I have to be today! Yay! I love days off. And with Chris at work I can watch all the cheesy ABC Family movies on Netflix that I want. Haha

April 28th I flew down to Las Vegas! It's so nice having Allegiant Airlines right here in Idaho Falls for so cheap. I arrived down there at about 730pm and Bethany, Ryder, and Hudson were at baggage claim waiting for me! They have gotten so big! Not Bethany. Ryder and Hudson. :) It had been over a year since I had seen them and it was so nice. I wish I would have taken more pictures though.
We visited for a bit when we got back to the house and the boys were in bed. The next day we went to the Beauty Supply store and got some hair products and then I cut and colored Beth's hair. That night for dinner we all went to Zupas! I miss that place so much! And luckily they had one open up down there in Vegas just a week before I got there. :) I wish we had one here in Idaho Falls. It's so yummy! After dinner we went and watched Ryder at T-Ball practice. It was the cutest thing ever! Those 3 year olds were so funny. And Ryder was really good!
Tuesday was another day full of fun. Beth and I went to Hobby Lobby and picked out a whole bunch of cute flowers and bows and material to make headbands for baby! We made lots of super cute headbands and flower clips and bows to dress up my little one. I can't wait to put them on her! When Doug got home from studying we all headed over to the Lee's for dinner! It is always so fun to see them and I love how even after all these years we are still so close and a part of each other's lives. They have helped us out so much through our life. We had yummy turkey burgers and watermelon and corn on the cob. My favorite things about summer! Here is Owey modeling one :)

On the way home we stopped at Rita's for a yummy treat. It was my first time there and it was SO YUMMY! Another place I wish we had up here :) Maybe I should open one up! I got the Swedish Fish Gelati. Yummy Yummy Yummy. I might have to go get a Sno Cone today cause I am craving it so bad right now. Definitely not the same though!

My last day down there we woke up and headed over to the mall. We did some window shopping and bought a few gifts for people at Bath and Body Works. And of course we had to make a stop at See's Candies to get a box of the best chocolates ever! It was hard to not eat them before I came back home, but I wanted to share with Chris. So I had to control myself :) After dinner we all made a trip to get some frozen yogurt and enjoy visiting together the rest of the night. The trip went by so fast!

It was so nice getting to visit my sister and Doug, and their cute kids. I had such a fun time playing with the boys and getting to know them more. Its hard living so far away but I can't wait for them to come up here in August when I have the baby! :) Thank you Doug and Beth for letting me come crash your house. I had a blast!

Baby Shower

Last weekend my mother in law threw me an awesome baby shower. She went all out, and everything looked so cute! The guests were family members and members from her ward since we lived with them for a year, and got to know the people in her ward pretty well.

The decorations were so adorable with lots and lots of PINK! :)

She made lots of yummy food to snack on, which I totally did all night long. Pretty sure I drank half of what was in the punch bowl all by myself! :) We had deviled eggs, cowboy caviar with chips, meatballs, cream puffs, cheesecake bites, sliced baguettes with cucumbers, and of course the yummy punch!
We played a game that was all about me where we got to see who knew me the best. And I will be honest, I didn't even know some of the answers to those questions! Thankfully the people there knew me better than myself and was able to help me out. Haha

Everyone who came was so generous in their gifts and baby girl Allen got totally spoiled! She received lots and lots of cute clothes and pj's, headbands, blankets, a baby monitor, bath sets, diapers, books, and Esther and Jared even got us a travel system! She is going to look pretty cute in all her new stuff.

I wish I would have taken more pictures of the night and the people that were there. I did get this one of me and cousin Melissa. :)
But thank you Esther for all your hard work and giving me such a fun night!

24 Weeks!

Well the baby is now the size of a Cantaloupe!  I just keep getting bigger and bigger everyday, and my wardrobe is getting smaller and smaller. :)

I have definitely been experiencing the common symptoms at this time, including lower back pain, swelling, I get out of breath very easily, and lots of heartburn and indigestion.
Baby actually looks like a baby now, and I have been feeling her so much more each day. Mostly in the mornings when I am first waking up, and then at night when we are lying on the couch watching TV. I am still waiting to be able to feel the kicks from the outside so Chris can feel her too, but that hasn't happened yet. Boo :( Hopefully soon!

I started going to the Prenatal Yoga class they have at the hospital Thursday nights, and it was great! It was cool to be around a bunch of other pregnant girls and have a good workout. I definitely felt better afterwards and I think if I keep going I won't have as much back pain.
Everything else is going great. Work has been really busy and we have been having fun getting our nursery ready and just enjoying this time.

One more week and I get to go to Vegas! I am so excited for the little break, get to some warmer weather, and spend some time with my sister. We are going to make lots of cute headbands for baby and just have fun. :)

Catch Up

It's been a couple weeks since I have posted, so I thought while I am sitting here waiting for this heartburn to pass and watching Saved By The Bell on Netflix, I would catch up! Easter was last week and it was great! We went to church and taught our cute little 5 year olds, showing them a video about the Resurrection. I was so tired because the night before I could not fall asleep! It was probably 5am before I could sleep. Insomnia, heartburn, and Chris's snoring did not help one bit. So, I was not in the mood to prepare a big lesson. Good thing a movie and a coloring page could keep their attention for the hour. :) We also gave them a little plastic egg with some candy in them. They were sure excited about that! After church we went over to Chris's parents house for dinner. We ate a yummy steak dinner with mashed potatoes and salad while watching The Amazing Race. What a perfect Easter! :)

Another exciting happening the past couple weeks was our doctor's appointment! We had our Anatomy Scan at this appointment and it was so cool. Esther also came so she could see the baby with us. Everything went really well. She had all her organs and parts and looking really good! I loved seeing her move all around. Oh that reminds me, she was still a SHE! So that was very exciting. My favorite part was in one of her profile shots, we could see her drinking in there. So cute to see her little mouth open and watch her swallow.
The doctor said my belly was growing right on track and measuring right where I should be. She said the baby was a little small, about a little over a week behind. But they didn't change my due date, and maybe I will just have small babies! :) That's ok with me! She also told Chris to make sure I rest more and drink more water. Apparently my amniotic fluid can't get get any lower or I could be put on bed rest. Definitely don't want that!

Conference this past weekend was awesome. It was so nice to spend 2 days in my pj's, lounging around the house, and listening to the Prophet. It was so relaxing and it's always nice to get little reminders on what I need to improve in my life. I just wish it was more than just twice a year! I also wish that these next 3 weeks go by fast cause I am going to Vegas at the end of the month! Yay!
