Good Friends are Good for your Health

Last night was so much fun. I haven't had that much of a social life lately. I basically just work and sleep and eat and workout. But I did have an awesome date last weekend, and then last night was another fun night. My friend Cassie had to go to this choir concert for one of her classes at BYU-I, so I decided to go with her, so I drove up to Rexburg. I went up early so we could get some dinner before and have time to just hang out and talk since we hadn't seen each other in a while. We ended up going to dinner at this little shop downtown called "Uptown Bagels" that was SO GOOD! They make these really delicious sandwiches on bagels with cheeses and meats and cream cheeses that are just to die for. After that we walked around downtown a bit checking out the cool stores. We found this apartment complex right in the middle of downtown and all the stores that had really cool wallpaper that we wanted to look at and take pictures of (hence the pictures of us with the cool wallpaper behind us). Yeah, it's kind of random, but it was really fun! After that we stopped at "The Cocoa Bean" to get a cupcake! It is a very cute shop that have these huge, delicious cupcakes. Seriously, they are so good. I have decided that I really want to open my own little cupcake/cookie shop and make it all cute and trendy like that. I think that would be so much fun to do. After that we headed over to campus for the concert. That choir concert was one of the most choreographed, entertaining concert I have ever been to! Usually I get kind of bored at choir concerts, but that one was good and funny and held most of my attention most of the time. :) HAHAThe initial plan for after the concert was to meet up with our friend Dusty and some of his friends to have a bon fire, but it had snowed ALL day so that ended up getting cancelled, but we still all hung out together. Cassie and I met them all over at the bowling alley in town. There was a big group of us, and they already had a game going, so we just watched and had our own little dance party while they bowled. Dusty did have me bowl once for him on one of his turns, but I totally got a gutter ball and so I don't think he wanted me to bowl for him anymore. :) But us girls had a great time having our dance party and getting strange looks from everyone in the alley. We requested a song "Spice Up Your Life" by the Spice Girls and couldn't leave before they played it. The DJ finally played it right when we were about to go, so we stayed and had a whole dance we did in front of the entire bowling alley. Really. Everyone was watching us. It was awesome! Best time ever! And then at the end of the song, we ran out.
Dusty then invited us to go over to his friend Brad's apartment to watch "Vantage Point" with everyone. That is a good movie. It drives me crazy though with all the rewinding, but since I had seen it before, it was totally better the second time since I knew what was going on. Well, at the end of the movie, it was curfew time (good ol' Honor Code) so we headed out the door. Cassie dropped me off where I parked my car (well, I actually had taken our friend's Jetta cause my car is being really dumb and I didn't trust taking it to Rexburg). I got in the car, and I couldn't go anywhere cause the clutch was completely pushed in and I could not get it out at all to get it in gear. (Man, I am really having the worst luck with cars right now!). Cassie had already driven off so I called Dusty to come help me! He came with his friends Brad and Jason. Jason got in the car, and got it started, clutch unstuck, and driving in under 10 seconds. I felt SO STUPID! Thank goodness they were able to come help me cause I don't know what else I would have done at 1:30 in the morning. They then invited me to go to Denny's with them, so I followed them back to Idaho Falls making sure my car wasn't going to do anything else stupid, and spent the next couple hours at Denny's where we were really loud, really crazy, and really embarrassing, but isn't that what you are SUPPOSED to do when you go to Denny's at 2am?! :)
So, that was my Friday night! It was a lot of fun and I am so glad that I have such awesome friends here! Sorry, this was so long and maybe a little boring, but at least I have a LITTLE excitement in my life right now. haha. Gotta go. General Conference is about to start again! It's been SO GOOD so far!

Michael Scott: Jim, you're next. Who would you do?
Jim Halpert: Ummm... Kevin, hands down. Yeah, he's really got that teddy bear thing going on, and afterwards we could, just watch bowling.

Thoughts From The Peanut Gallery...

* It's April. It's Spring. It's SNOWING! A LOT! It won't stop! All I gotta say is there better be a VERY GOOD reason why I am supposed to be here in Idaho....:)

* My car is being stupid right now and I think I am going to have to buy a new clutch. Ugh. It's kind of hard to get anywhere when you can't even get your car in gear....

* I ran 6 miles today! And I cut my time down by 10 minutes compared to last weekend! Woohoo! I was pretty much dying during the 4th mile, but "Poker Face" came on and that totally revved me up till the end.

* Stephanie truly believes that I am going to get married this year. But don't you have to kind of be dating someone for that to happen?

* It's my mom's birthday today! She is 62 now! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

* I need new running shoes. I was walking in the slushy parking lot of Wal-Mart today and my socks got completely wet because of the holes in my shoes. That is just the worst. :(

* I think I am going to start giving plasma again...there are so many things coming up that I need money for, and the extra cash will be nice to have.

* I am watching "Bolt" right now. It's actually really good! So funny!

* Ridonkulus. It's my new word. That's right.

* I saw the new CoverGirl Exact Eyelights Mascera on "America's Next Top Model", so I wanted to try it. And you know what? I LOVE IT! It's hard for me to find mascera I like, and CoverGirl always comes through for me!

* I am so excited for General Conference! Those two weekends are my favorite weekends of the whole year!!

* I am so grateful for such wonderful friends and family I have in my life. I have definitely been blessed with awesome people in my life to support me in all that I do, let me be myself, and teach me so much about life, love, and what's important.

* I just took a quiz online telling me what city I should live it and it said L.A. I love visiting L.A., but I can't handle big crazy cities like that. I am more of a small city/town girl, where you can get across the whole town in less than 10 minutes, where you have everything you need right there, but close enough to visit the big cities around me.

I definitely have lots more thoughts, but I don't want to go on forever. Maybe I do more tomorrow. I am going to Rexburg tonight to hang out with my awesome friend Cassie! Gotta love a good Girl's Night Out. :)

Ready to Run

I have never really been a runner. I used to be a pretty avid tennis player back in my day. But that kind of running is different. It's a lot more exciting and you get to rest in between points. :) But I have a friend who is wanting me to train for a marathon with her, and I have gotten really into it the past couple weeks. And you know what? It's actually been pretty good! I have had to do it on a treadmill since Idaho weather is not reliable at all. But once it gets a little better, I will be able to run outside. I have averaged about 15 miles a week so far, but that should grow as time goes on. I think one of the main reasons I have been able to do so well is cause I go in the mornings when VH1 is playing their Top 20 Music Videos! I can just turn that on and go for miles.....(obviously :). I have a few favorite videos that come on that gives me a huge boost and causes me to go as fast as I can. These include "Jai Ho!" by The Pussycat Dolls, "Poker Face" by Lady Gaga, "Love Sex Magic" by Ciara and Justin Timberlake, "If U Seek Amy" by Britney Spears, and "My Life Would Suck Without You" by Kelly Clarkson. I don't know what happens when they come on, but I get so much energy, and I love it. :) Anyway, this has just been such a good thing in my life right now and it's making me feel so good each day, I am sleeping better, and of course it's helping me to reach my goal weight faster! As far as that goes, I haven't updated you guys in a while about that. On my trip to California I gained back 4 pounds, but since then, I have lost those 4 pounds again, plus another 3! Yay! Thank you everyone who has been my support though this! I couldn't do it without you! You keep me going!
Stanley: Oh yes I will work out today. I work out a way to avoid running for a stupid cause.
