My 20 Favorite Things About This Christmas

I have been so behind with my blogging that I decided to make it a little fun with my post about the Christmas holiday. So these are my favorite things that have happened this past month!

* Delivering gifts to a family with my ward in a big fire engine and Santa Claus
* Watching Elf!
* Getting stuck in the snow 4 times after a HUGE snow storm and finally going and getting chains for my tires.
* Drinking lots of eggnog and eating all the delicious holiday snacks ( I kind of slacked at going to the gym but hey, that's what the excuse of "It's Christmas!" is for! :)
* Picking out all the gifts for my family and friends (and trying not put myself too much in debt)
* Taking all my little girls to see Santa
* Going in the hot tub while it's snowy and cold outside
* Having my Mom, Lee, Bethany, and Doug come stay at my house! We had a houseful this Christmas but it was tons of fun!
* Listening to Christmas music at full blast all the time
* Playing "The Office" DVD game...I didn't win :(
* Sleeping in many times (I haven't worked that much in the past 2 weeks....:) I guess I will have to pay for that later)
* All the girl's nights and fun times with my awesome friends!
* Eating (I really have eaten whole lot this month ugh)
* Talking to friends and family whom I haven't talked to in a while, feeling that loving christmas spirit.
* Peppermint Hot Chocolate
* Remembering the TRUE Christmas meaning, studying Christ's birth and life, and being grateful for all that He did for us so that we could be here and celebrate this time of year.
* My awesome christmas presents ("House Bunny", yoga mat, pajamas, apron, smelly good stuff, being with my family)
* Watching "Mamma Mia" with Doug and Beth and watching Doug's reactions to it. I LOVE IT! :)
* Buying a box of 10 puzzles that Beth and I started putting together yesterday. They're not easy! We started one of Greece, but it was just a bunch of white buildings and the ocean so that was too hard, and then we started one of Times Square that is still being worked on (and it will be a while till I finish it)
* Delivering Secret Santa gifts with Stephanie, yelling Feliz Navidad to the family's door cause they wouldn't answer it, and spilling beans everywhere cause I got a hole in the bag when we were delivering a basket of food.

I know there are so many more good memories that I have made throughout this past month and this Christmas season. But I dont' have a very good memory, so if you have any, add them! And let me know what your favorite memories are of this holiday!

Michael Scott: Christmas is awesome. First of all, you get to spend time with people you love. Secondly, you can get drunk and no one can say anything. Third, you give presents. What's better than giving presents? And fourth, getting presents. So, four things. Not bad for one day. It's really the greatest day of all time.

Perks of my Job

So today I spent the day with two of my little girls who are just so adorable and so fun. It was an awesome day, and I forgot about how sometimes I just really don't like my job because we had so much fun together! I took them to the Museum of Idaho where around Christmas time they have huge exhibits of every kind of Santa Claus you can think of from every country, Nativity sets from every country and type of material, and a bunch of gingerbread houses that different people in the county have made. It was also great too cause it was FREE! Yeah I can be so cheap sometimes. :) So we spent some time walking around looking at all the things they had to offer. The youngest girl had a hard time looking at every little thing and didn't want to read about them or anything. She was just wanting to run up and down the stairs, so I think I might have to go again with one of my adult clients so I can spend more time reading about each thing. But it was a really cool thing to have for the city and enjoy the holidays! The girls wanted to take a picture with everything they had there, so I am just putting up a few of the pictures I took. So if you are anywhere near Idaho Falls from now until January 7th, you should definitely go!

A Gingerbread Log Cabin! :)
With a Carousel gingerbread thing...
Me and the girls
I also took them to see Santa...we had just been in Victoria Secret playing with the make-up, so that's why they look......like that. :)

Darryl:Come on Michael let me borrow the hat for just a couple of hours.
Michael Scott:You wanna be Santa? Have you ever seen Santa?
Darryl:Yeah, I've seen Santa. Who cares?
Michael Scott:Well I'm sorry it just doesn't work.
Dwight Schrute:Michael, I would like to be the elf.
Michael Scott:That makes sense, because he has elfish features.

A Little Taste....

I just wanted to post the pictures I took yesterday after church of all the snow we have! It really does snow a lot here. I thought people were kidding, but there REALLY is A LOT of snow here! Haha it's fun though and beautiful. We will see how much longer I like it. :) I took these pictures at the park near my house (except for the first one...that's our backyard :)

Michael Scott: Look. Dwight is a wuss. When we rented Armageddon, he cried at the end of it.
Dwight: Michael, I told you. That was because it was New Year's Eve, and it started to snow at exactly midnight.

Thoughts....

Well I did say I was gonna do better at blogging and I guess I don't always have to have something real exciting to write about, right? :) If you get bored of my rambling, please let me know and I will stop. Haha Anyway, today I woke up to a Winter Wonderland. Everything was covered in snow and it looked so beautiful.....until I had to go drive in it. All week I had planned to go do my Christmas shopping today since I got paid yesterday and wanted it done. So I bundled myself up and left our warm house. Then I had to spend 10 minutes scraping off my car and warming it up. The roads weren't too bad but there were a couple times where I slid and my life flashed before my eyes, but luckily I got it going straight again before hitting anything. :) Not only was I fighting for my life out on the roads, but at the mall and Wal-Mart as well! People get crazy during this time and they will not let down for anything! The funniest thing about my shopping extravaganza was that there was so much snow that in the parking lot you couldn't even see the lines so people were just parking however they wanted to and didn't even try to get in a straight line. Awesome. Well I made it home safely and got most of my shopping done. I still have a couple things to buy, but I will do it when not everyone and their dog are out. I am going to try to get some pictures of the whiteness here in Idaho Falls because it's just gorgeous. It hasn't stopped all day but it's too dark now.

Michael Scott: "You know what the only thing I want for Christmas? I want Meredith to get better. That's my only wish. But you know what my wishes never come true. So I'm not going to wish that on her. I... a watch would be nice."

Thanksgiving break

So for Thanksgiving this year I went out to California to visit my mom. It was really nice to go out there for a week and get away from work and stress and life. Our friend's the Dilley's were already driving out there to visit their family, so I was able to catch a ride with them, which was really nice so I didn't have to drive by myself. So the weekend before we left, I drove down to Provo to visit Bethany and Doug and some friends. Bethany and I did a little shopping when I got there, and then that night we went to South Jordan with their friends Grant and Liz to eat at "The Pie" and see "Twilight"! It was my first time eating at The Pie but I had always wanted to eat there and it was delicious. It was my second time seeing "Twilight", but it was still SO GOOD! The theater we went to had assigned seating and they had already bought their tickets, so when I bought mine, I had to sit away from them, but not too far. I didn't mind sitting by myself really. Once the movie starts, it doesn't really matter who you are sitting with. But we got there a little early and so I was there sitting by myself, waiting for someone to sit by me, but my row was empty until the very minute the movie started. I talked to the girl next to me a bit. She had never read the books or knew anything about Twilight, and that was just very disappointing. Anyway, it was really fun and I don't think I could ever tire of watching it.
The next day I went to church with them and then drove up to Layton to the Dilley's house to help them clean and load the car for the trip. We woke up very early the next morning and got on the road to Sacramento. It was a pretty good drive. Clear weather, good music, lots of stops for their 4 kids, and I drove the second half and that always makes trips go by fast for me.
It was really fun to see my mom and get to know Lee more, and have fun with my sister Lindsay. I didn't have to worry about anything and that was awesome. Gennveve got baptized while we were out there and it was so fun to be able to see it. We met the Dilley's when Gennaveve was only 1 year old! So we have been able to see her grow up these past 8 years and celebrate her becoming a member of the church.
The day before Thanksgiving, our friends the Harpers always have a huge dinner at their house so we were able to go over there and eat so much good food! Lindsay, Amelia, and I hung out and watched "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2" and ate a bunch of ice cream. The day of Thanksgiving, we just had a small dinner with my mom, Lee, and myself. Lindsay went up to Tahoe to have dinner with our cousins so it was just us. I took my mom and Lee to see "Twilight" and Amelia came with us. It was my third time seeing it and it was still AMAZING! My mom thought it was really scary. Haha. Anyway, my mom and I went shopping for a bit on Black Friday and found some really good deals for christmas presents. Then I headed back to Utah with the Dilley's.
I have some more pictures that I am waiting for Lindsay to post so I can put them on here, so you will have to wait for those. And I am also going to try to do better at blogging because I have been sucking it up bad lately.

Don't Worry....

I am in California for the week and will be posting about it when I get back. I am definitely due to do a post about real stuff going on in my life (not just about movies or websites or etc.). So I will do that when I get back! Hopefully I will have pictures for it too. Haha

Ode to Twilight

Those of you who really know me know I could not resist this. I just have to say how much I loved the Twilight movie!!! I went and saw the midnight premiere with Stephanie and Monica. The movie started at 12:30am, but I went over to the theater at 11pm to get us a spot in line so we could get good seats. There was a huge line outside of the theater, but when I picked up my tickets, they told me our theater was already seating! I was so glad I didn't have to stand outside in the cold and wind. So I had to wait for Stephanie and Monica to get to the theater since I had their tickets. Our good ol' movie theater here in Idaho Falls was a mad house! We were told that there were about 3000 people there that night and using 7 of the theaters there. We found some good seats, bought lots of good snacking food and waited the hour and a half for the movie to start. But, it was TOTALLY WORTH IT! Even though I loved the books, I didn't really have high hopes for the movie. I really didn't think it wasn't going to be that good. I saw the people they picked for each part and wasn't too thrilled about them. But now that I have seen the movie, I take it all back! Edward was perfect. Bella was perfect. Jasper made me laugh so much. I don't know why. He didn't do much. But everytime I saw him, I laughed even if he was just standing there! :) Haha anyway, it was greatly entertaining and I have fallen in love with Edward Cullen all over again. :)

Election Day

Well, it's a little late, they have already announced the next president of the United States, but I still wanted everyone to know that........
I wanted him........

But got him.........

Oh well..........

Don't know what to expect now........:(

A little break...

This past weekend, I was able to go down to Bountiful with the Lee's (the family I live with) to help their son Jordon move from Bountiful to Farmington. Even though we were just there Sunday and Monday, it was a really nice break from the stress of work and money and everything else. I had a really good time! We helped Jordon move and clean his house and then I went and visited our good friend's the Dilleys! My family has known the Dilley's since I was about 16. They lived with my family for a little bit in Texas and we have stayed very good friends since. They have a cute little family and their kids are getting so big! We had fun eating dinner, catching up on things, playing Sardines, and enduring a never ending game of Candyland! :) Here are just a few pictures I took with the kids (Gennavieve 8, Eden 6, Oren 4, Irelynn 22 months):

Halloween!

I will have pictures later from Boo at the Zoo cause the person who is supposed to email me copies hasn't done it yet, but before it gets too far away from Halloween, I should at least show you what I dressed up as! :) The day before Halloween, I dressed up when I went to the school I work at with one of my clients and we had a bunch of parties all day long. The 4th graders really liked my costume. Haha This one boy even decided to be a "Gangster Army Man" by putting on his baseball cap like mine with his camo's. :) Anyway, I celebrated Halloween by taking my little girl clients to Boo at the Zoo on Wednesday, partying at the school on Thursday, and then on actual Halloween, I stayed home, made pizza, breadsticks, and cookies for all of us at home, passing out candy to the kids who came to the door (one seriously scared me by hiding and then popping out when I opened the door :), and watching "One Missed Call". I think it was a pretty good Halloween and I really enjoyed it! I didn't go to any haunted houses though. I was kind of traumatized by the ones I went to last year, :)

HSM3

Last night I took my 12 year old client to see High School Musical 3! I was so excited for it to come out and nobody wanted to go see it with me cause they think it's lame and so I needed an excuse to go see it so I took her. :) I know I know...many people have tried to tell me that I am too old to love High School Musical so much but I don't know. I love it and nobody can stop me from loving it. And the third one is the BEST ONE! I think it was so much better than the other two by far. The others are still good, but this one was awesome! Seriously, you have to go see it. Maybe I like Zac Efron a little too much, but watching him does make it a little better. I will stop rambling on about what some people call a "Pre-Teen" show and just let you guys go watch it and see for yourself what I am talking about. I would love to know what you all think of it too! :) Haha

Back Again...

So this last weekend I went to Provo again! Yay for mini vacations! It's nice that Provo isn't that far from Idaho Falls so I can visit pretty often. I went down Friday night and hung out with Beth, Doug, and Landon and we watched "The Singles 2nd Ward". I love it! Seriously, if you haven't seen it, you should. There aren't many LDS films that I enjoy but that is definitely one of them that I do! Saturday morning I went over and had a big breakfast with my old roommates (Jenne, Britt, and Marissa) from last year. It was soooo good. We made crepes, and hashbrowns, and sausage, and fruit. Mmmm and got each other caught up on everything that has happened since we all moved out last April. Too bad Angela or Marie couldn't be there. We missed you guys! Oh and a sidenote: I have pictures, but I took them on my ghetto old fashioned camera with film and I have a few more pictures I need to take before I can develop them (I hope I can find a place that still develops film HaHa). Anyway, after that Beth and I went and did a little shopping at Target in her new car! It is way nice.
Doug was taking a practice MCAT, so when he got home we all went down to our good friend's Carrie and Chris's house in Spring City to spend the evening with them. Which by the way, was GREAT! Thanks Carrie and Chris for letting us come down and eat your food and play your Wii. :) Those aren't the ONLY reasons we come down there......:) While we were there we went to the pumpkin patch by their house and got some pumpkins and then ate some very delicious potato soup and rolls and then PIE! Carrie makes a mean pie and I am so very jealous. But it was all good and the rest of the night was spent playing "Friends Scene It" (I am glad I had Carrie on my team cause we won!) and playing on the Wii. It was a very good day. When we got back I went and stayed at Haylee's house since her and Dave went up to Fruit Heights, I stayed there to take care of Moscow (I wish I could have actually SEEN them too! But seeing their house and pictures of them on their walls was almost as good. Okay, not really). I kept thinking someone was coming in the house or something cause every few hours during the night he would jump off the bed and bark at the top of his lungs at who knows what: the wall, his shadow, the fan, I don't know. :) But they do have a very comfortable mattress and it felt good to be able to sleep in. When Beth and Doug got home from church that day I went over and hung out with them a little more until I had to get on the road to come back to IF.
It was a really fun trip and I am so glad I went. Thank you Beth and Doug for always letting me crash at your house and I am looking forward to the next time I go down! And again, pictures will be coming soon! :)

FHE

Last night at FHE we got to carve pumpkins! I had gone to the pumpkin patch during my trip to Utah this past weekend, so it was the perfect activity since I still needed to carve it. But it was a really fun night to sit around with friends, carve our pumpkins, make a big mess with the pumpkin guts, and eat the seeds after we baked them! I really love my ward and I am enjoying meeting new people every week.

My Reading List

Okay everyone, I recently added my "Reading List" on the side of my blog that lists what books I have read or currently reading. Of course it doesn't include ALL of the books I have read in my life, just ones I have read in the last few years or ones that mean something to me. The book at the top of the list is the book I am currently reading (as you can see I am reading "The Client" right now). This is to give you guys an idea of books you could read, and if any of you have some recommendations of some good books, PLEASE let me know! I always have a book in my purse in case I have some free time to read and also to read right before I go to sleep at night. So enjoy and let me know if you have read any good books that I haven't!

Deep Thoughts....

I was sitting in a classroom for 6 1/2 hours today while my client was in in-school suspension so that gave me a lot of time to a) get all my paperwork done for the week (I will NEVER procrastinate my paperwork like that again. THERE'S SO MUCH!) and b) think about A LOT of different things. So I just wanted to share some of my deep thoughts that went through my head today:
*They have commercials telling us that High Fructose Corn Syrup is good for us, but then Bob (the trainer on The Biggest Loser) gets on TV and tells us it's bad for us and to throw it out! What to do?! They make those popsicles look really good on the commercials, but then Bob is pretty HOTT so I want to listen to him! I am so torn.....

*I wish I could retire now at 23 years old and spend my days at Barnes and Noble in their comfy chairs, drinking hot chocolate, and reading all the good books around me.

*If same sex marriages have become acceptable in our country, what is the next deviant behavior that's gonna become okay to do?

*How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck COULD chuck wood? Will we EVER know?

*Kenny Chesney says it perfectly: "Everybody Wants to go to Heaven, We Just Don't Want to go Right Now. "

*How many burned calories does it take to lose one pound?

*I am so glad I don't have Michael Scott as a boss! I don't know what I would do if I did!

*I am REALLY liking those Toyota FJ Cruisers right now. I am seeing them all over IF and every time I see one I feel like it's taunting me: "Don't you wish you had one right now? Just do it! Go out and buy one! It will make you so happy!" Dang cars....

My Hair

Alright....I am taking a poll and I want EVERYONE'S vote! If you read this, you better be leaving me a comment. :) I am trying to figure out how to get my hair done next. Winter is right around the corner (we are supposed to get a little snow this weekend. Crazy huh?!), and it's time for something new. I am pretty sure all of you have seen my hair all of the ways I am presenting as options, but I will add pictures so you can have a visual. How do you like my hair the best?

Leave it how it is (light brown with blonde highlights)

All blonde

Really dark

I am growing my hair out and it's finally getting long again! Yay! So I will probably be heading over to our lovely Vogue Beauty School to get a trim and maybe some long bangs soon!
