The Ceremony

We had an amazing bridal party who was such a great help with everything we had to do.These pictures are all out of order but it's so much work trying to make them organized on this thing....:) So just enjoy! The ceremony was perfect. The decorations were beautiful, everyone that we love was showed up, the words that were said were wonderful, and you could feel so much love in that room. I waited in the bathroom until it was time to start. Thank you bridesmaids for making sure everything was organized and I remembered everything.

The Decorations

I got my wedding photos! Yay! But I am going to split it all up and just do a little bit at a time cause it's gonna take a WHILE! :) My family did a FABULOUS job creating the decorations and presentation of my wedding ceremony and reception. It was GORGEOUS and everything that I have ever wanted for a wedding. My colors were Red, Black, and White. We were going to have an outdoor wedding in my branch presidents backyard, but the day before the wedding, the weather turned awful and it scared us away from doing that, so we moved everything inside our church building. I think that was the perfect idea and made my wedding amazing. My mom and sisters worked so hard tying bows (which I had told them I am NOT good at tying bows, so if they wanted it to look good, I cannot tie any of the bows :). It was all so very elegant yet fun and comfy at the same time. It was the best night of my life!

The Proposal

I know some of you have been waiting ever so patiently for this post, so here you go! ;) Just a warning, it's a lot of words!

It was Wednesday July 27th. The day did NOT start out very well at all. Have you ever had a down day where you just felt awful and there was NOTHING that was going to make it better? You didn't feel very pretty, you didn't want to get out of bed, you just wanted to crawl in a hole and never come out? Well, that's exactly how I was feeling that day. I almost called into work I was so depressed. I didn't want to face people one bit! But I forced myself to work and I survived. (barely!) Earlier that day, Chris had told me to just come over to his house when I got off work, and so that's exactly what I did! I hadn't heard anything differently so I drove to his house. I parked my car in his driveway and got out of my car. Right at that time, Chris was coming out of his house, saw me, and yelled quite loudly, "Oh SHOOT!" You can imagine how that made me feel. Made me feel like he had forgotten I was coming and didn't really want me there! He tried to tell me that he said that because he had forgotten his work keys or something at work, but I can always tell when he is lying cause he isn't a very good liar (which is not a bad thing! :). I didn't ask questions. I just accepted his story. So I went in his house and I still just felt really blue and sad, so I started telling him how I was feeling and it brought on some tears that us girls just can't control sometimes....right in the middle of this he tells me that he has to leave and go somewhere but he can't tell me where, that I just have to trust him. Hmmmm where do you think he went? :)

So he gets back to the house right when I was finishing making dinner and so we eat and he tells me he wants to go to the Visitors Center that night. Right before we leave the house he puts a jacket on, which I thought was really weird since he NEVER wears jackets and it's JULY and super hot outside! But I didn't say anything and we went on our way. We got to the visitor's center and they are doing construction at the temple right now so there is no grass, lots of bulldozers everywhere, and a bunch of dirt. It really didn't matter to me cause we were by the temple of it's beautiful anyway, but Chris kept saying how sad he was that there was no grass, and that it wasn't romantic, and I was like, we are at the temple! You don't need grass to be romantic! :) We looked around the visitors center (while we were in there they gave us little bookmark) and then we started walking around the outside of the temple. We were walking, enjoying each other and the beautiful night. He then started telling me how much he loved me and was so happy with me and didn't want to be with anybody else. At that point we had come to the "Brides Garden" where they have a little gazebo and flowers and benches. Chris stopped and took off his jacket and made me put it on. I didn't remember saying I was cold, but I just went with it. :) So we were standing there talking and then all of a sudden he says he wants to see the bookmark they gave us in the visitors center. I reach my hand in the pocket of his jacket to get it and I feel the bookmark, but then I also feel a little box right next to it. I pull both things out and just stared at the box. I couldn't believe it! He took the box from me and went down on his knee. That's when I started BAWLING! I am sad that I don't remember a lot that he said cause I was crying so much and so excited. But he told me that he loved me and wanted to be with me forever and then he asked me to marry him! Of course I said yes and he put the ring on my finger and made me the happiest girl in the world. We left the temple so happy and started making phone calls and sending out texts and going to our houses to show our families. I can't wait to marry Chris in 6 weeks! :)

Our Journey Up North

Last weekend Chris and I took a road trip up north to Canada! We went to southern Alberta and it was BEAUTIFUL! The drive through Montana was very green and mountainy (is that even a word?? :). We stopped in Great Falls to pick up his brother and uncle at the airport and then drove the rest of the way and arrived in Magrath, Alberta! That's where his sister, grandparents, aunt, uncle, and cousins live. We visited with his family, played at the park, and got a yummy canadian slurpee (they have different soda flavored slurpees with really fine shaved ice that is just amazing!). We were pretty exhausted from the drive so we went to bed early.
The next morning we woke up to an amazing pancake breakfast, got ready for the day, and then drove 20 minutes to Cardston where the wedding reception was going to be that night. We went and helped his cousins decorate the church. Chris and I had to tie bows out of ribbon to put on the walls....Let me tell you, I am NOT a crafty person at all! I could not tie those bows worth nothing! Chris was pretty dang good at it though! So he would get them started for me and I would get them all fluffed up, put the cute little decoration on it and tie them up. We made quite the team! :) We then drove back to Magrath, got all prettied and then went back for the reception! The reception was very nice! They served a delicious roast beef (roast beast?) meal with funeral potatoes (which Chris and I are definitely having at OUR wedding!), salads, jello, rolls, and cake and ice cream! Then were the famous skits that Chris's family likes to do at all their weddings....it's quite a production! All of the cousins reinact different embarrassing stories from the brides and grooms life. It was pretty hilarious! And everyone was turning to me and telling me to get ready for what was going to happen at our wedding! Ahhhh! The rest of the night was spent DANCING! Chris was a good sport and danced with me and stood next to me even when I looked like a fool :) That's why I love him so much! My shoes broke so I had to be barefoot, but that won't stop me from dancing! Haha On our way back to Magrath, Chris and I stopped to see the Cardston temple which was BEAUTIFUL! The gates were closed, but we got a good look at it from the outside. It has such a unique look to it. We thought about getting married there, but I don't think my family would want to come to Canada! :) The next day we drove to Waterton, which is a national park in Canada with beautiful mountains, lake, waterfalls, The Price of Wales Hotel, and yummy ice cream! We did a fun little hike (ok, it wasn't THAT little or THAT fun. It was really intense! And I had to stop like every 5 steps cause it was so steep!) But when we got to the top, the view was perfectly worth it! We got to feed the little chimpmunks some nuts while were up there and just had a great time with each other. When we got to the bottom, we went and looked at the pretty waterfall and then got some ice cream at a nearby shop! I totally deserved that after the workout I had hiking up Bear's Hump! haha

We then drove to Lethbridge to visit A&W for their famous french fries with gravy! Instead of like ketchup or fry sauce, they serve this yummy brown gravy with their fries! It was AWESOME! Their burgers were also awesome, as well as their root beer! Mmmm I wanna go back! :) Saturday night was filled with lots of relaxing, visiting with family, and watching the Best of Mr. Bean! I hadn't watched him in so long and it made me crack up a lot! He is SO FUNNY! Sunday morning we woke up, packed our bags, stopped by the gas station for one last slurpee, and drove back to Idaho Falls! It was a very fast trip, but so much fun and I can't wait to visit again!
