Our Journey Up North

Last weekend Chris and I took a road trip up north to Canada! We went to southern Alberta and it was BEAUTIFUL! The drive through Montana was very green and mountainy (is that even a word?? :). We stopped in Great Falls to pick up his brother and uncle at the airport and then drove the rest of the way and arrived in Magrath, Alberta! That's where his sister, grandparents, aunt, uncle, and cousins live. We visited with his family, played at the park, and got a yummy canadian slurpee (they have different soda flavored slurpees with really fine shaved ice that is just amazing!). We were pretty exhausted from the drive so we went to bed early.
The next morning we woke up to an amazing pancake breakfast, got ready for the day, and then drove 20 minutes to Cardston where the wedding reception was going to be that night. We went and helped his cousins decorate the church. Chris and I had to tie bows out of ribbon to put on the walls....Let me tell you, I am NOT a crafty person at all! I could not tie those bows worth nothing! Chris was pretty dang good at it though! So he would get them started for me and I would get them all fluffed up, put the cute little decoration on it and tie them up. We made quite the team! :) We then drove back to Magrath, got all prettied and then went back for the reception!The reception was very nice! They served a delicious roast beef (roast beast?) meal with funeral potatoes (which Chris and I are definitely having at OUR wedding!), salads, jello, rolls, and cake and ice cream! Then were the famous skits that Chris's family likes to do at all their weddings....it's quite a production! All of the cousins reinact different embarrassing stories from the brides and grooms life. It was pretty hilarious! And everyone was turning to me and telling me to get ready for what was going to happen at our wedding! Ahhhh! The rest of the night was spent DANCING! Chris was a good sport and danced with me and stood next to me even when I looked like a fool :) That's why I love him so much! My shoes broke so I had to be barefoot, but that won't stop me from dancing! Haha On our way back to Magrath, Chris and I stopped to see the Cardston temple which was BEAUTIFUL! The gates were closed, but we got a good look at it from the outside. It has such a unique look to it. We thought about getting married there, but I don't think my family would want to come to Canada! :) The next day we drove to Waterton, which is a national park in Canada with beautiful mountains, lake, waterfalls, The Price of Wales Hotel, and yummy ice cream! We did a fun little hike (ok, it wasn't THAT little or THAT fun. It was really intense! And I had to stop like every 5 steps cause it was so steep!) But when we got to the top, the view was perfectly worth it! We got to feed the little chimpmunks some nuts while were up there and just had a great time with each other. When we got to the bottom, we went and looked at the pretty waterfall and then got some ice cream at a nearby shop! I totally deserved that after the workout I had hiking up Bear's Hump! haha

We then drove to Lethbridge to visit A&W for their famous french fries with gravy! Instead of like ketchup or fry sauce, they serve this yummy brown gravy with their fries! It was AWESOME! Their burgers were also awesome, as well as their root beer! Mmmm I wanna go back! :) Saturday night was filled with lots of relaxing, visiting with family, and watching the Best of Mr. Bean! I hadn't watched him in so long and it made me crack up a lot! He is SO FUNNY! Sunday morning we woke up, packed our bags, stopped by the gas station for one last slurpee, and drove back to Idaho Falls! It was a very fast trip, but so much fun and I can't wait to visit again!

Oh Canada....

I am going to Canada tomorrow so get ready for a great post when I get back! I am still kicking and still happy! Been busy at my salon which I love, getting things straightened out so chris and I can get married (hush, it's not official yet!), and loving SUMMER! I just love the warmth. I forgot I didn't talk about our 4th of July....we went to the parade and got lots of candy and free ties and my work Apple Athletic Club won best float! We then went to a barbeque at our branch presidents house, went to the river and Melissa and I got our funnel cake! We only get it once a year so it's quite a big production :) And then we had a barbeque at chris's house with a few close friends. I ate way too much that day, and by the time the fireworks were about to start we were exhausted, and we didn't want to face all the crowds downtown, so we sat in his hot tub and watched them from afar. :) It has been such an awesome summer! Probably the best summer yet!

Oh yeah, and we also went to the Harry Potter midnight premiere! It was AWESOME!!! Best Harry Potter movie! The only bad thing was we had to sit in the very front row cause the lady told me the wrong time that our theater was seating. Oh well, that just means we will have to go again once it gets in the cheap theater! :)

It's July!

Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know that I am still here! I am just super bad at keeping up with this thing lately....Not home a whole lot. I am either working, with Chris, or sleeping. So I don't make a whole lot of time for updating the blog. :) But here is what's been happening:

If you don't know already, I am working at Retreat Day Spa and Salon. I LOVE it! I love the people I work with, I am learning so much, and staying reasonably busy. It is a great fit for me and I am so happy. I still work part time at The Apple Athletic Club just to help bring in some money and I don't want to lose my gym membership!

I went boating this last weekend with a bunch of friends and had a BLAST. I got super sunburned though and it's been hurting a lot, but totally worth it! I learned how to knee board and to surf, and also went tubing, and just enjoy my awesome friends. I sure love the water. I would love to live somewhere where it's warm all year long and can just get on a boat anytime you want! That would make me very happy :)

I turned blonde again! I was debating it for a long time. I wanted a change, it was summer, Chris likes blondes, and so I just did it! And I love it. I might stay this way for a LONG time...haha

And, Chris and I are still going strong! I have so much fun with him. He treats me so well and I love him so much!

Happy Thoughts

Chris and I went to Vegas a couple weeks ago and had such an amazing time with my family. It was his first time meeting my family so it was a little nerve wrecking, but he loved them, they loved him....it all worked out great! We spent time at the pool, eating lots of food, going to the strip, and just loving being together. Thank you Doug and Beth for letting us crash at your place! It was also really nice to see Sarah and Cuyler whom I haven't seen since their wedding. I miss you guys!! I spent this last weekend in Island Park with a bunch of friends. We had a blast! We went to the Playmill and saw "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels", played truth or dare, had a bbq, went 4 wheeling, and just had so much fun together. It was really nice to be able to get away for a little bit.

Summer!!

Well, I think it's safe to say that it's finally summer! Yet, we have had lots of rain the past couple days and the "First Day of Summer" isn't really until the 21st....BUT, the other day I put on my bathing suit and Chris and I laid out by the pool! Even though it was gloomy and a little windy, to me, that means it's SUMMER! :) I am so excited to go to Vegas this weekend and see my family and little babies. Maybe I will be lucky enough to get a little color since that is pretty much impossible here in Idaho. But, I bought a new bathing suit which looks a little like this:

Chris and I laid out by the pool. He fell asleep:I tried to do as he did, but it just didn't happen for me (I was too cold!)So I just tried to entertain myself by taking lots of pictures of us and watching the pool that nobody was in :)Vegas in 56 1/2 hours! YAY! Maybe Chris and I will be making a stop by the little wedding chapel and get married by Elvis! :)

Life As We Know It

Well, I have been out of schoolf or 2 weeks, haven't really done a whole lot. You would think I would update this thing more because of it, but I have just been REALLY REALLY lazy! haha sleeping in (almost) everyday has been nice but I feel like a bum. And here is a really bad picture of me and Chris: :)I had a job interview yesterday at a spa in Blackfoot (which is about a 25 minute drive). It was a really cute place and the people were really nice, but I just had a really bad feeling about it on my drive back to town. I don't think I should make that drive everyday and I feel like I would lose a bunch of clients if I went out of town. I have so many people who have been so good to me and kept coming back to me while I was in school, I want them to keep coming! :) But funny thing happened after the interview...I got back in town and went to the gym to workout and clear my head and get rid of the bad feelings I had. I was super bummed cause I didn't know what I was going to do and I have been struggling lately with knowing where I belong and what I need to be doing with my life. Anyway, after I finished my run I was walking to the locker room and I get a call from Retreat Day Spa asking me to come in for an interview on Saturday!! That is the place that I have been wanting to work this whole time and I had talked to them a week before and they told me they didn't have any spots open. So I was so happy that they called me! So I will be going in on Saturday for the interview. Everyone please include me in your prayers! :) I really hope I get that job.

Well, not much else has been going on. Chris and I are getting super excited for our trip to Vegas next weekend! I can't wait to see my family and for them to meet Chris! Other than that I have just been working out,

I finally got my season 6 of The Office so I have been catching up on that,Chris and I watch A LOT of movies,And making sure I keep learning stuff about hair so I don't lose my knowledge! :)

I did it!

Well guys...it's official. I am a Beauty School graduate! I really can't believe I actually did it. It was the hardest and best year of my life. Learning cosmetology was something that was always in the back of my head of something that I would love to do, but never thought it could become a reality. But then a year ago, I guess you could call it a nudge or a maybe even a push telling me that I needed to sign up. So I called and told them that I was going to start the next week! I was grateful to have it cause it helped me get through a really hard time in my life and let me just focus on myself for a little bit. I have learned so much and have had such an amazing cheerleading squad who has pushed me to keep going when I wanted to quit. So thank you to everyone who pushed me through! I am so happy I did it!

Life just feels so good right now. I have an amazing family, amazing friends, an amazing boyfriend, and an amazing gospel. I couldn't ask for anything more! I am so excited to go to Vegas in a few weeks for Chris to meet my family, excited to go to Canada in July, excited to find a job and start getting paid doing what I love to do! :)
