I just wanted to let you all know that I passed my finals!!!! It's been a long crazy week, but after many tests, I aced all of them including my written final last night! I can now be on the floor with real clients! So start making your appointments with me so I can do your hair. :) I am so excited. I love everything that we learn and I just feel so at home there. After our test last night we just took it easy the rest of the night and got to learn how to put Shimmerz in our hair. They are real fun! So now I have some purple strings hidden all in my hair.On the first of June I started the challenge of reading the Book of Mormon in 90 days. So I am on day 5 and I am doing pretty well! It's pretty hard for me to read it everyday so if I do this it will be a huge accomplishment for me. :)
I am spending the summer housesitting for a friend that I work with while her family does scout camp. Last night was my first night there. It was pretty quiet and I kept waking up in the night forgetting where I was! But it will be fun and since I will be living alone I hope to work more on my cooking skills. So if you have any yummy recipes, let me know!
It's gonna be a great summer! I am so excited to go white water rafting for Jordyn's birthday again. I hope I don't fall in again! haha I am excited to help plan Sarah's bridal shower and go to her wedding in Oakland, California in September!
Hey Y'all! :) Happy Memorial Day! So far I have celebrated the day by staying in bed till about Noon. :) I showered and got myself ready. Enjoyed some Taco Soup (Mmmm) and am now watching The Food Network and drinking chocolate milk. There is no better way to spend a day I think! I will be going to my friend Shawn's house for a BBQ later today where we will eat lots of food and play horseshoes and croquet and make s'mores. Last night about 10 of us went on our weekly Sunday bike ride. It was so good! We went about 13 miles and just had so much fun together riding all over Idaho Falls. It's so nice to actually have some decent weather! Saturday we had a huge snow/rain storm that was just so depressing. I am glad I can actually spend some time outside this week!
This week I will be doing finals!! I am pretty nervous! And then next week I will be on the floor with REAL clients! So if you want your hair done make an appointment and come on in! I promise I won't mess it up TOO bad. haha
If you haven't heard already.....my best friend is ENGAGED! WOOHOO! I am so happy for her and Cuyler. Cuyler is an amazing guy who loves Sarah so much and is so good to her. They bring out the best in each other and are just perfect together.
Is it just me, or does Giada have super short arms?! I have a hard time watching her cause I focus on her really short arms. :)
Anyway, I am off to go enjoy my day. Hope you all are having an awesome holiday and will be back on here very soon!
I probably say this in every post recently, but it's the truth...Life is BUSY! I am so worn out today. I SHOULD be in bed right now cause I have to get up at 6am, but I decided to update my blog first since it's way over due. :) School is going really well! Last week we learned pedicures, manicures, facials, and microdermabrasions! I love being able to go to school and be pampered. :) Yesterday I did two more haircuts. I cut my friend Emmy's uncle's hair and then my friend Felicia's daughter's hair. She wanted an A-line cut so i spent the entire weekend watching YouTube videos on how to cut it and practiced on my mannequin head. Then I got to school and it was still completely impossible! Seriously, it's the hardest cut to do I think. But finally, after a lot of patience from Natalia and lots of cutting, I finally got it! I meant to get a before picture but totally forgot until right in the middle of the cut, so here is a picture of her I found on facebook that's kind of old...so imagine her hair a little longer and not so much bangs. haha I also should have gotten a shot from the back so you could see the actual A-line...dang it.
Work is good! We are starting to slow down a bit now that the weather is warming up. People don't like to come workout in a gym when that happens. :) I really don't have much more to report....my friends and family are amazing. I am living life and trying to make the most of it. I am trying to learn patience. I am working on just being ME. I am so tired. I seriously can't think straight right now so I will finish when my brain is more clear. :) Nighty night!!
*Sometimes I wish I could just lay around in bed or on my couch all day long, and not worry or think about anything else. Where I can just forget about all my responsibilities and everything else that is waiting for me.
*I LOVE it when I read one of my friends blogs and they say exactly how I am feeling and what I am thinking. I rely on all of your thoughts to get me going and lift me up (thank you Lindsay and Tara for the things you posted today :).
*I am so blessed with amazing friends and family who will come and visit me at the exact moment I need them. Who will invite me to come and play with them. Who will send me funny videos or conference talks to remind me how great life really is.
*I loved hearing the voice of the prophet yesterday for stake conference. While I listen to their words, it's always a reminder to me how much the gospel means to me and I hate ever doubting it, or not completely doing what I was supposed to and making wrong choices. I never want to do anything to jeopardize my relationship with my Heavenly Father and my Savior.
*Music touches my soul in many ways. It helps me through hard breakups. It gives me awesome connections with other people. It gives me special memories that I can remember always. It gets me up and dancing and makes me smile and reminds me who I am and what I enjoy. I am LOVING this song right now./span>
The girl on American Idol did a version of it, but I kinda like the original. It's kind of crazy and loud at spots, but I love her voice and the lyrics are awesome.
*I LOVE the feeling I have as I step off my treadmill. I have lost 11 pounds this year so far, and have been able to keep it off which is a HUGE accomplishment for me. I still have a little more to go!
*The Lord answers ALL my prayers. Sometimes He answers them in a way that I don't like, the answer that I don't want, but He has always answered them, and I have been the happiest when I listen to His answer and follow in Faith.
*This beautiful spring weather we are having here in Idaho is making me SO HAPPY! I loved wearing sandals to church yesterday instead of tights and boots. I want to go to the river and feed the ducks. I want to go roller blading. I want to eat an ice cream cone while walking down the street.
*I can't wait till I get paid next week so I can buy my midnight premiere tickets to Eclipse! I finally just watched the Oprah show with all of them on there, and it was awesome! It made me me so giddy and I loved feeling that way!
*My good GOOD GOOD friend Cassandra got married this weekend. She was so beautiful and happy! It made me super excited to be able to go through the temple. I cannot wait for that day to come. :)
Anyway, these are just a few thoughts that I have had today. It's Monday and I love Mondays cause I don't have to work and I can sleep in and do whatever I want! Well, that is until I go to class at 5 tonight...:) I am doing highlights on my friend tonight! Yay!
Here is another peek into my life and everything that has been going on! Another week down of school! It was a good one. We started learning about COLOR! It is awesome! But, I never knew how technical and complicated it is. I think it will take me a long time till I can really feel comfortable knowing the formulas and how it all works. So tonight we were to bring in a friend to do an all over color on! I brought my friend Jill in from work and we had a blast! We made her hair a level darker and added a tint of red in it. It was so pretty! You can't really see the red in the pictures, only in the sunlight. :) But here are the before and after pics!
It kind of made me want to go dark but then do a tint of purple in it! What do you think? Should I do it? :) After school tonight I went to the movies with my new friend Emmy from school and we saw Letters to Juliet! It was so cute! Very funny and cute and maybe even makes you cry a bit....the perfect movie! Win Win! haha anyway, it's late, and Sarah and Cuyler are supposed to be here any minute and I am so excited! I better get my bathroom cleaned up for them. Until next time!
Well, this past week has been great! In school this week we did lots of fun things. We started learning how to cut hair. We did layers and boy cuts and then we had to bring in actual people to do haircuts on. I brought in Kaleb and gave him a mullett! It was sweet! I took a picture but you really can't tell in the picture I took. He doesn't style it himself so now it's just a big poof ball again. haha My friend Jill from work came in too, and I just took a few inches off of her and gave her a lot more layers and swoop bangs. Girls hair is so much easier than boys! Then we also got our eyebrows and eyelashes tinted and then waxed our eyebrows and noses! haha that was pretty cool. :) Anyway, yesterday I went to my great friend Cassandra's bridal shower! It was lots of fun! We played some really cool games. Like, trying to scoop condoms with a spoon into a mug on top of our head while blindfolded. It was hilarious to watch. And then we also had a Boob Cake! HAHAHA! here is a picture of Cassandra and the cake (yes, there are tassels on them. ;):
I am doing really well and life is awesome. Just really busy! I am really hoping I can buy a new laptop soon. A little bit of me dies each day that I don't have my music and pictures and everything. I went miniature golfing last night with a bunch of friends. It was really fun but I really suck. :) I got the worst score of the group! ;) haha but I love my friends. They are such a blessing in my life. I think there was something else I wanted to tell you all, but can't think of it now. If I remember I will let you know! Happy Mother's Day! Here is my amazing mother who has sacrificed so much for me and my family. I don't know where I would be without her. She is my hero
Hey Hey! So I finished another week of school and I am still LOVING IT! We learned about spray on tanning, deep conditioning, round brush blow drying, AND actually started cutting hair! It was so exciting!! We only worked on the perimeters (the baseline of your hair), trying out straight lines and curved where it's shorter in the front, longer in the back.....okay, I will stop. I don't want to bore all of you with every little detail I am learning...haha I am just so happy! We are gonna be bringing in real people to class with us this week to do haircuts on them! I will definitely tell you how all that goes! Hopefully I don't botch up my friends hair too much. Other than that, life is awesome! I am super busy but that is good. I have amazing friends who are always there for me and had a great time last night playing games with people who I have missed spending time with and just having fun. :)
I can't wait for summer! It snowed here yesterday....booo.....but today is super nice and I can't wait to not have to wear my jacket, to be able to wear flip flops and short sleeves and go swimming. I can just feel that this is gonna be a great year! I want to make a visit to Vegas and Arizona and maybe even Disneyland if I am lucky!
